Property Tax Due Dates
Payable at City Hall in Room 109. Please make check payable to the City Controller
- First installment due in month of January
- Second installment due in month of May
County TaxPayable at City Hall in Room 109. Please make check payable to Niagara County Treasurer.
County tax is payable at City Hall as follows:
School TaxPayable at City Hall in room 109. Please make check payable to School District Treasurer.
- First installment due in month of August
- Second installment due in month of November
Water BillsIn-person payments payable at Billing and Collection, City Hall in Room 109. Please make check payable to Niagara Falls Water Authority.
Bills are issued in the first week of the following months:
- DISTRICT 1: January April July October
- DISTRICT 2: February May August November
- DISTRICT 3: March June September December
Bills are due 20 days after issuance.

How To Cancel And Reschedule A Payment Due With A Return Or Extension Or An Estimated Tax Payment
If you already scheduled your return, extension, or estimated tax payment due on April 15, 2020, your direct debit payment will not be automatically rescheduled to occur on July 15, 2020. You must cancel and schedule a new direct debit payment.
To cancel a payment scheduled to be withdrawn from your bank account on a future date, you must submit your request to cancel the scheduled payment at least two business days before the scheduled settlement date. Use View and cancel scheduled payments in your Online Services account to cancel the payment.

Learn About Paying With Web File
You can pay directly from your bank account when you Web File your sales tax return, or make payments in advance of filing. Both options conveniently save your bank account information for future use.
If you pay when you Web File, you can still schedule the payment in advanceas long as you’re filing before the due date.

Pay From Account With A Bank Or Banking Services Provider
- save your bank account information ,
- receive instant confirmation from the New York State Tax Department, and
- schedule payments in advance. Note: To schedule additional payments, return to your Account Summary homepage and select Make a payment again.
Your bank statement will indicate our receipt of your payment with an NYS Tax Payment line item for the authorized amount.
College Certificate Of Residence
Rockland County residents may obtain a College Certificate of Residence to reduce tuition costs while attending a two-year SUNY/CUNY college outside of Rockland County.
Any student who is a resident of Rockland County must prove residency and meet the guidelines required by the New York State Education Department.
- A post office box address or envelope addressed to you does not qualify as proof of residence.
- Once issued, certificate is valid for one year.
- Bring your Certificate of Residence to the college at the time of your registration for courses.

Return Of Funds Held In Court And Trust
Prior to the release of court held funds, the Commissioner of Finance must receive the following documents:
- An original certified court order, signed by the judge, ordering the Commissioner of Finance of the County of Rockland to release the funds, plus accumulated interest, less fees .
- A W-9 form with the name and address of the party who will receive the funds, as named in the certified court order.
- A cover letter stating whether the funds are to be mailed or picked up.
A check for the return of funds will be mailed in approximately five business days.

Make An Estimated Income Tax Payment
If the Tax Department sent you a notice and you want to pay it, see Pay a bill or notice. Do not pay a bill from this page.
The 2021-2022 New York State budget replaced the highest personal income tax bracket and rate for 2021 with three new brackets and rates. To determine if these changes will affect your 2021 estimated tax payments, see Estimated tax law changes. If you need to adjust already-scheduled payments due to the new brackets and rates, you may cancel and resubmit your scheduled estimated tax payments.

Pay Using Your Online Services Account
Pay directly from your bank account for free, or pay with your credit or debit card for a fee.

An Online Services account also allows you to view your current balance on open bills, respond to department notices, review your account summary, and view messages from the department.

Pay An Open Audit Case
If you received a Statement of Audit Changes or a Consent to Field Audit Adjustment letter and have a balance due, you can pay online with our Pay an Open Audit Case online service.
If you prefer not to create an account, you can pay online with Quick Pay . You can also pay by mail, with a check or money order, to the address referenced in your letter.
